End of Year Cruise 2025
Woolworths Woodford
08:30 – 14:00
End of Year 86 BRZ Cruise!
The year is coming to a close again, so lets celebrate it with a cruise! Join us for one of our biggest social events of the year and a great way to meet other club members. This year, the cruise will be heading off from Woodford and going along the scenic and twisting mountain roads of the Sunshine Coast. Our midway stopping point will be at Philip St in Kenilworth for us to regroup and have a stretch before heading off to the lunch destination at Baringa Tavern.
A Google map route for the cruise is available here (Please note this may be subject to change):
https://maps.app.goo.gl/e5TUnVHsr31umC8f6
The route for just the second half is here:
https://maps.app.goo.gl/reM5v4z6D8ccicZo7
This is a great opportunity to meet many members of the club, take photos and have a great day out! If you're intending to come, please get a free ticket down below to help up keep track of numbers. If you're taking some photos, send them to us so we can feature them on our website and socials!
Things to note on the route
The route has been chosen to be a fun mix of mountain roads that should prove to be an exciting drive. There are a few things that should be noted for your safety and enjoyment:
1. E85 USERS: BE PREPARED! This is an approximately 160km route and we dont you to miss out on it. You know your cars best, so plan to fill up before or make provisions if you need to. It's better to play it safe than end up stuck out there!
2. While we aim to have space for everyone at out starting and stopping locations, these are still public car parks which may become full. If you cannot find a space in the designated area, please just find one close by.
3. Please have a copy of the route with you. We want you all to enjoy the cruise and dont want anyone to end up getting lost on the way. Don't just rely on the car in front of you, as they may be just as lost as you!
4. Speed cameras and police are known to patrol these roads, please keep that in mind.
5. There is currently some rain predicted after the cruise, however South east Queesland weather can change without much warning. Please drive to the conditions and be safe!
General Notes for the day
This is a CRUISE not a Rally, there are no prizes for getting to the venue first. All attendees should adhere to all road rules and obey all signs, speed limits and drive to the conditions. Please be respectful when leaving our starting and end points, your behaviour reflects on us as a Club.
Some of the roads on our cruise are winding and fun to drive, but use common sense and stay safe. Don't drive harder than you or the conditions can handle. Once again, it's a cruise, not a track day! Take it easy and keep a safe following distance. Maintaining a good following distance also allows for more flowing traffic through the winding sections of road. When turning at an intersection, wait until the person behind you can see you and where you're going. This helps prevent people from getting lost!
It's looking like a great day out, so we'll see you there!!!

General Notes for the day

All attendees should adhere to all road rules and obey all signs, speed limits and drive to the conditions. The cruise will be less technical than other routes, but still has some tight roads with sharp corners; keep yourself free from distractions and generally stay switched on.
Along Clear Mountain is a somewhat populated area with a hotel. Please drive accordingly and respectfully near these residences.
Be courteous to everyone else on the cruise. Just because you can make that yellow light or intersection doesn't mean the car behind you can.

Maintaining a good following distance also allows for more flowing traffic through the winding sections of road. You dont want to be driving home in a tow truck.
As of time of writing, the roads for the cruise are clear and in good condition. However this is still south east Queensland and the weather can change rapidly. Keep that in mind.

9:00 to 10:25 - Registration and Sign on
10:25 to 10:40am - Drivers Briefing
10:40 to 11:00am - On Track
All Asian Day Info:
This Happy Laps day coincides with one of Lakeside's biggest days of the year, All Asian Day. As Lakeside charges a $10 per person entry fee for All Asian Day, Happy Laps tickets via this page have been reduced by $10 to make it effectively the same price as a normal Happy Laps. The All Asian Day fee will be collected by Lakeside at the gate and the cost is $10 per person in your vehicle. This Happy Laps will be run as a normal QLD 86 BRZ Car Club Happy Laps (noting Lakeside do have several changes this year). Specifically, we will have the same limited number of tickets as always, it will be restricted to people purchasing tickets via this website, the normal rules will apply and it is open to all road registered cars. If you wish, you will also be able to attend the separate All Asian Day cruises (see here for more info), but these will have far more cars than our Happy Laps session.
While we will have a dedicated area roped off for parking, due to how busy All Asian Day gets, please ensure you arrive at Lakeside by no later than 9:40 to give you enough time to get through the gate and attend our Driver's Briefing at 10:25. Details of where to park will likely be emailed to all ticket holders the evening before the event.
General Info
Driver - Financial Members of the club - $40 ($30 +$10 at the gate)
Driver - Non-Financial club member - $60 ($50 + $10 at the gate)
Passenger - $30 ($20 + $10 at the gate)
(Spectators - $0 but $10 at the gate)
Note the Club rules for Happy Laps @ Lakeside Raceway, failure to follow these will result in you not being able to attend to future events.
1. This is not a speed event - No publishing of lap times, speeds, videos showing laptimes or speeds or descriptions of your mad racetrack skillz yo on social media (this is how the venue can maintain their insurance cover). Failure to follow this rule will mean both you and your post will be removed.
2. Helmets and CAMS/motorsport licenses are not required, but a current, valid driver's license is.
3. No entry to the track without a wristband for everyone in the car.
4. Non-QLD 86/BRZ club members and non-86/BRZ vehicles are more than welcome to join us.
5. Overtaking is only on the straights, if not overtaking KEEP LEFT - repeated failure to do so will mean you will not be invited back.
6. We do not allow any form of Roll Racing out our events. If you are unable to follow this request you will be removed from the track. Management also reserves the right to refund entries prior to the event if we believe your vehicle is not suitable for our events.
7. All vehicles entering the track must be currently road-registered and showing valid registration plates.
8. See point 1. This is not a race event, for legal and insurance reasons it is a cruise.
