Mid-Year Cruise and AGM 2025
Springfield park 'n' ride
08:00 – 13:00
Mid-Year 86 BRZ Cruise and AGM! Sunday 6th July 2025 Join us again for one of our biggest social events / cruises of the year. We are starting at Springfield Park'n'Ride at 8 for a short pre-cruise meetup (Look for the QLD86BRZ Flag) then making our way up to Killcoy (Ashton park rest area) for the mid-way stop, and finally ending near the Brisbane Airport for a sausage sizzle! This will tkae us through some fun driving, scenic roads and is a great opportunity to meet many members of the club, take photos and have a great day out! After the cruise, we will also be holding our Annual General Meeting for the club which all financial members are welcome to join. This is your chance to share your thoughts on the club and have your say on the direction of the club. We will also be voting in new board members for the club, so if you would like to get involved, now is the chance! If you're intending to come to either event, please get a free ticket down below to help up keep track of numbers.  A Google map route is available here: MAP LINK! Please note that the route may be subject to change depending on weather and road conditions. Things to note on the cruise The route has been chosen to be a fun mix of technical and more open roads, there are still a few things that should be noted for your safety and enjoyment: 1. E85 users please fill up before going! This is an approximately 250km route and we dont you to miss out on it. There are a few servos near the starting location, so please use them! It's better to play it safe than end up stuck out there! 2. To try keep the cruise from spliting or having people get lost on the route, we're going to split people into smaller groups, each with a lead car. Just follow your lead car should your maps not work. 3. Some of the roads may narrow down to one lane at a time, so please drive accordingly. 4. Speed cameras and police are known to patrol these roads, please keep that in mind. The fines are not cheap! 5. Current weather predictions are looking good, however there still might be rain during the cruise. Please drive to the conditions and be safe! General Notes for the day  This is a CRUISE not a Rally, there are no prizes for getting to the venue first. All attendees should adhere to all road rules and obey all signs, speed limits and drive to the conditions. Please be respectful when leaving our starting and end points, your behaviour reflects on us as a Club. Some of the roads on our cruise are winding and fun to drive, but use common sense and stay safe. Take it easy and keep a safe following distance. Maintaining a good following distance also allows for more flowing traffic through the winding sections of road. When turning at an intersection, wait until the person behind you can see you and where you're going. This helps prevent people from getting lost! Notes for the AGM The agenda for the meeting will be as follows: Welcome from President Presentation of 2024 Financial Statements and 2024 Budgets Open Forum for members to ask questions and have their input into the next 12 months Voting for Board Positions For the Board Nominations, any current paid member can nominate themselves or another member for any board position. The list of positions and their responsibilities can be found here: Board Duties PDF  Board Position Signup Link AGM Motion Link The positions to be voted on are as follows: President (to be vacant) Secretary (to be vacant)  Treasurer Motorsports Coordinator Social Webmaster  Interclub Coordinator  Sponsorship Coordinator  Merchandise Coordinator (vacant)  For any questions regarding the AGM or board positions, please do not hesitate to contact president@qld86brz.com It's looking like a great day out, so we'll see you there!!!

Lakeside Happy Laps - 22nd Jun 2025
Lakeside Park
08:25 – 09:45
We are back again at Lakeside Raceway for Happy Laps. Please share with your friends in the Club.   In 2025 Lakeside Raceway are only offering Happy Laps on a very limited number of dates and will be running back to back Happy Laps with various different groups (such as us) one after each other on the same day. Our on track session will be no different to normal with the same rules and limits on ticket numbers. The main differences will be the sign on process, start time and the fact that there will be other Happy Laps groups before and after us. If you attended our Lakeside Happy Laps earlier this year (on Lakeside's All Asian Day), it will be similar to this but with far less people at Lakeside and no gate/entry fees. Please note the times and other details listed below:   7:00 to 9:00 - Lakeside Registration and Sign on: Lakeside staff will run rolling videos of the drivers briefings every 10 minutes located in the briefing room near the control towers. Drivers (but not passengers) will receive a wrist band from Lakeside staff after watching this video. These video briefings are for anyone attending any Happy Laps session throughout the day and will therefore likely have people from other groups as well. It is recommended you arrive at Lakeside early enough to attend a briefing starting no later than 9:00 (e.g. you don't need to arrive at 7:00). 8:45 to 9:10am - Windscreen sticker and passenger wrist bands: QLD 86 BRZ Car Club board members will issue a windscreen sticker and passenger wrist bands. The windscreen sticker should be placed on the top drivers side corner of your front windscreen. This sticker will be unique to our group and used by Lakeside staff to ensure only people from our group are let on track. Look for the QLD 86 BRZ Car Club tear drop banner near the historical museum building.    9:10 to 9:25am - 86 BRZ Car Club Drivers Briefing: This is a briefing just for those attending the QLD 86 BRZ Car Club Happy Laps. Ensure you have a windscreen sticker, driver wrist bands and passenger wrist bands before this point.   9:25 to 9:45am - On Track: You will only be let on track if (1) your car has a windscreen sticker (that is for our group) on the top top drivers side corner of your front windscreen, (2) the driver has a driver wrist band and (3) any passengers have a passenger wrist band.    Driver - Financial Members of the club - $40 Driver - Non-Financial club member - $60 Passenger - $30   Note the Club rules for Happy Laps @ Lakeside Raceway, failure to follow these will result in you not being able to attend to future events.   1. This is not a speed event - No publishing of lap times, speeds, videos showing laptimes or speeds or descriptions of your mad racetrack skillz yo on social media (this is how the venue can maintain their insurance cover). Failure to follow this rule will mean both you and your post will be removed.   2. Helmets and CAMS/motorsport licenses are not required, but a current, valid driver's license is.   3. No entry to the track without a wristband for everyone in the car.   4. Non-QLD 86/BRZ club members and non-86/BRZ vehicles are more than welcome to join us.   5. Overtaking is only on the straights, if not overtaking KEEP LEFT - repeated failure to do so will mean you will not be invited back.   6. We do not allow any form of Roll Racing out our events. If you are unable to follow this request you will be removed from the track. Management also reserves the right to refund entries prior to the event if we believe your vehicle is not suitable for our events.   7. All vehicles entering the track must be currently road-registered and showing valid registration plates.   8. See point 1. This is not a race event, for legal and insurance reasons it is a cruise.   Further details about the event can be found on the Lakeside Happy Laps page.     If you have any further questions regarding Happy Laps, please email motorsport@qld86brz.com.

QR Weekend Sprints - 15 March 2025
Queensland Raceway
10:00 – 17:00
Welcome to the first of four private grid Sprints sessions hosted by the QLD 86 BRZ Car Club for 2025. We have booked our own private grid which will be limited to those booking through the club.  To ensure these events remain financially viable for the club to host, entry will be open to members of other car clubs with similarly paced cars. All of the normal benefits of a private grid will still apply, such as ensuring cars are ordered from fastest to slowest for each session and knowing that you are participating with likeminded people who respect each other and our time on the track. Pricing is identical to that of QR but has the benefits outlined above and not being grouped with cars from the general public. Below is some information on how sprints works and the requirements. If you have any questions, please see the bottom of this page for details on how to contact us. Signup Process Register and pay for your tickets via the ‘Get Tickets’ button on this page: If you wish to participate in the QR General Practice session in the morning, please pay for this via step 2. Complete the ‘Tickets Details’ page including contact information and vehicle details. Please note that a Motorsports Australia ‘Speed License’ is required to participate in QR Sprints. If you don’t have one already, an annual license can be purchased for $165 (via https://motorsport.org.au/licence) or a day license can be purchased via the QR website for $35 (see details below). Enter your payment details to pay for the tickets via the QLD 86 BRZ Car Club website. Register for the event via the QR Website (create or login to your QR account if this comes up with a login page): Select the ‘86/BRZ Car Club Group (Approval Required)’ from the category drop down box. Enter the relevant details on the form. Select any optional extras (noting the below) you wish to pay for such as hiring a MYLAPS timer, or upgrading to Super Sprints (participating in General Practice in the morning). If you don’t already have a Motorsports Australia Speed License and plan to just use a day license, select the ‘I will purchase a Day License now for $35.00’ option. Please note that there is mandatory '$25.00 Safety & Track Maintenance Surcharge'. This is a mandatory charge applied to anyone participating in Sprints regardless of how you are entering the event. Click the ‘Pay $##.00 Now’ button. If you have selected the options of hiring a timer (+$30) and the (mandatory) Safety & Track Maintenance Surcharge (+$25) this should be $55.00. If the amount is $180 plus the extra items you have selected, please ensure you have selected the ‘86/BRZ Car Club’ Category option at the top of the form. All participants must complete both steps 1 and 2 outlined above. Please ensure you have registered with QR via their website no later than 12:00pm on the Friday before the Sprint session as this is when QR close the online sign in process. If you have registered online, on the day you will be able to join the express queue when signing in. Otherwise, you will need to join the standard queue and will likely be charged a manual sign on fee by QR. Additional information on how QR runs their sprint sessions, clothing requirements and vehicle requirements can be found at: the top of the QR sign on page, https://www.qldraceways.com.au/events-at-queensland-raceway/sprints#/, or further below on this page. ** General Practice upgrades (Super Sprints) are purchased directly from the QR website as outlined above. ** ** A Motorsport Australia Speed License is required for anyone entering sprints (QR do not accept AASA or Racers licences for Sprints events). For first timers who have never done sprints at Queensland Raceway, you can purchase a day license via the QR website (see step 2c above) or an annual licence from https://motorsport.org.au/licence/introduction. Please note that it may take a couple of weeks between paying for an annual Motorsport Australia license and receiving the actual license. ** ** Timers are available for hire for $30 directly from QR on the day (please don’t forget to return these on the day as timers cost in excess of $700 if you accidently take it home). Timers are not mandatory and if you wish, there are many apps for your phone that you can use to time your laps. While not very accurate if just using your phone, when paired with an external GPS unit this is extremely accurate. The RaceChrono Pro app (or Harry’s Lap Timer) paired with a Garmin Glo 2 or RaceBox Mini GPS unit are popular choices amongst club members. If you do hire a timer from QR your lap times will be published to speedhive on MYLAPS.  ** How Sprints are Run: QR Sign On for sprints opens at 10:00am. It is suggest you aim to arrive by 11:00 to ensure you can secure a pit bay. We have an 86/BRZ pre-driver briefing at 12:15pm sharp before the main QR briefing at 12:30pm. For sign on you are required to have photo I.D as well as your Motorsports Australia licence (or proof of purchase of the Motorsports Australia licence i.e confirmation email). At sign on you can hire your timer for the afternoon. The timer can be fixed to anywhere on the car (inside or outside) as long as the red part is facing down. Cars must display a race number on their left side, if you do not have a preferred number one will be allocated to you, laminated numbers can be picked up at sign on (this will need to be affixed to the left side of your car using sticky tape). If using a laminated number supplied by QR, please return this at the end of the day. The QR Driver’s Briefing for Sprints starts at 12:30pm. All drivers MUST attend the QR briefing at 12:30pm in addition to the 86/BRZ pre-driver briefing at 12:15pm. Cars are on track from 1:00pm. Six (6) 5 hot lap sessions are delivered which count for points. The usual order is: Two sessions on the Sprint layout Two sessions on the Clubman layout and Two sessions on the Switchback layout QR will then generally have a short Passenger Lap session. Anyone going out in the Passenger Lap session must have a passenger and any passengers must have a wrist band, helmet and long clothing. If time permits, there will also be a bonus laps session which is typically on the Switchback layout. Vehicle and Apparel Requirements: - Road Registered Cars 1. If you're intending to come, please get a free ticket down below to help up keep track of numbers. If you're taking some snaps, send them to us so we can feature them on our website and socials! Things to note on the route The route has been chosen to be a fun mix of easier, scenic roads for the first half, and more technical, twisty mountain roads for the second half and after-cruise run. There are a few things that should be noted for your safety and enjoyment: 1. E85 USERS: FILL UP AFTER HAPPY LAPS! This is an approximately 185km route (including the after-cruise run) and we dont you to miss out on it. The closest United servo to QR is at Yamanto, so please head over and fill up after Happy Laps! It's better to play it safe than end up stuck out there! 2. Although the Beechmont Hotel will try it's best to accommodate us, parking may not be guaranteed if we end up later than 11:30am. For this reason, we will be departing from QR at 9:00am sharp! 3. To try keep the cruise from spliting or having people get lost on the route, we're going to split people into smaller groups, each with a lead car. Just follow your lead car if your maps loses reception. 4. Some of the roads may narrow down to one lane at a time, so please drive accordingly. 5. Speed cameras and police are known to patrol these roads, please keep that in mind. 6. Current weather predictions are looking like a decent amount of rain, possibly even a storm. We are still planning on running the event if it's not too heavy or storming, but naturally it'll be at a slower pace for safety. Don't drive harder than you or the conditions can handle. Once again, it's a cruise, not a track day! Take it easy and keep a safe following distance. Maintaining a good following distance also allows for more flowing traffic through the winding sections of road. When turning at an intersection, wait until the person behind you can see you and where you're going. This helps prevent people from getting lost!   It's looking like a great day out, so we'll see you there!!!
