Welcome to the final private grid Sprints session hosted by the QLD 86 BRZ Car Club for 2024. We have booked our own private grid which will be limited to those booking through the club. In addition to being a regular QLD 86 BRZ Car Club Private Grid, we are also hosting the ‘Consistency Sprint’ round of the ICC (Inter-Club Challenge Queensland) series and run as a Come and Try day.
What do I need? To come along all you need is a road registered car, long sleeved shirt, long pants, helmet, timer and Motorsports Australia license. QR have a smaller number of helmets that be hired for $5 and they also sell helmets starting from $89.95. Timers can be hired from QR for the day and a Motorsports Australia day license can be purchased via QR for $30. Gloves, race suites, fire extinguisher, battery and tow point markers are not required (but can of course be used if you have them). See further below for more details.
Unlike regular Sprints where you are aiming to set the fastest lap time, ‘Consistency Sprints’ are about setting the most consistent laps times across the afternoon. The event will also be run as a 'Come and Try' day to make it easier for anyone looking to step up from Happy Laps and/or come to their first Sprints event. As this is being hosted as part of a regular Queensland Raceway Sprints afternoon, the format will consist of 2 sessions on the Sprint layout followed by 2 sessions on the Clubman layout and then 2 sessions of the Switchback layout. Each session will consist of a minimum of 5 hot laps.
Scoring for the ICC Consistency Sprint event will be based on the time difference between your 3 most consistent/closest lap times from any one session on each of the three layouts. These times differences will be added together and whoever has lowest time will be declared the winner. Points will be allocated according to the 2024 ICC guidelines and will count towards the overall 2024 ICC Series.

Below is some information on how sprints works and the requirements. If you have any questions, please see the bottom of this page for details on how to contact us.

** General Practice upgrades (Super Sprints) are now purchased directly from the QR website as outlined above. **
** A Motorsport Australia Speed License is required for anyone entering sprints (QR no longer accept AASA or Racers licences for Sprints events). For first timers who have never done sprints at Queensland Raceway, you can purchase a day license via the QR website (see step 2c above) or an annual licence from https://motorsport.org.au/licence/introduction. Please note that it may take a couple of weeks between paying for an annual Motorsport Australia license and receiving the actual license. **
** Timers are available for hire for $30 directly from QR on the day (please don’t forget to return these on the day as timers cost in excess of $700 if you accidently take it home). Lap times will be published to speedhive on MYLAPS. **

Cars must display a race number on their left side, if you do not have a preferred number one will be allocated to you by QR, laminated numbers can be picked up at sign on (this will need to be affixed to the left side of your car using sticky tape). If using a laminated number supplied by QR, please return this at the end of the day.
